Objective Jerk
HOLLYWOOD IS DEAD & IS FILLED WITH ZOMBIES: Kamala's Lack of Leadership, and the Draw of Documentaries
Ever wondered how personal experiences shape our perspectives on current events and leadership? This episode of Objective Jerk invites you on a journey through my reflections on hurricanes, politics, and documentaries. From my own harrowing experience with Hurricane Katrina to my deep concerns for loved ones in North Carolina, I share how these life-altering events have left a lasting impact. The discussion takes a critical turn as we examine the political landscape, with particular focus on Kamala Harris and the broader implications for strong female leadership in the future. We then shift gears to a gripping exploration of the Menendez Brothers' story, questioning the narratives we're often presented with and the challenges of uncovering the full truth.
As our conversation unfolds, I explore the changing dynamics of family movie nights and the selective nature of my current film choices. With a preference for old favorites or documentaries over new releases that echo the world's troubles, I share how this shift influences my viewing habits, including the specific allure of films like "Rebel Ridge." Beyond the screen, my creative side shines through in personal projects such as crafting rosaries, inspired by my growing interest in Catholic literature. Wrapping up this episode, I discuss the idea of creating handmade gifts for my children to share, underscoring the joy of giving something heartfelt and personal. Thank you for your continued support, and I’m eager to hear your thoughts as we look forward to more engaging conversations in the episodes to come.
What's going on? This is Objective Jerk and I am said jerk yes, I brought it back and I got people probably like dude. This guy is like straight up ADHD, can't make a decision, probably losing people. But I had some people like dude, what happened to Objective Jerk, whatever? Blah, blah, blah and I was like I don't know. But so I'm, I put, I changed the name back, but I'm keeping the logo that I made because I kind of like it. So I don't know, just a big hot mess. Anyway, what's going on? Hope everybody's doing well and they're getting through the chaos of the aftermath of the hurricanes.
Speaker 1:I don't know, I was in Katrina. I mean I wasn't in New Orleans, I was up further north, but you know we got hit pretty hard, didn't have power for a while. It was a pain in the ass but it wasn't, like you know, horrible and like some people, or a lot of people, went through and are going through now. You know Um, um, but yeah, I hope I don't know it's what's crazy too is like so me living here, like obviously I still follow stuff going on in the States, mainly kind of politics related. You know we have typhoons that come here and stuff. So yeah, I knew I was tracking, you know, the hurricanes and stuff, but like I didn't really it didn't really click for me because, like I have family and friends that live in North Carolina and it already gotten hit, north Carolina was already hit by that first one, and so they were dealing with all the flooding and everything and and so all of a sudden, it was just like a couple days after it hit actually, and then I was. I was just kind of reading something about it, talking about or watching something, and I'm just like, oh man, it sucks, dude. You know, you see the houses floating and whatever, or grandparents and their grandchild that got swept away or something. It's horrible. But I was reading or watching something. Then all of a sudden I'm like, oh, dude, I got family in North Carolina. And then I'm like, dude, I got a friend. I'm like, holy crap, you know, I need to find out, make sure they're good. You know, and they were, they live closer to the coast, which I mean they got nasty storms but like all the major problems, from what I can tell, the flooding and everything was inland, you know. So it's kind of crazy, but um, but then, of course, uh, you know, you got the crazy lefts that are like oh, it's because you guys are conservatives, ha ha, it's like what I don't know. Um, yeah, it's not because it's a tropical, uh, environment and it's you environment and it's, you know, hurricane season. No, it's because people are voting for trump, but whatever, anyway, so yeah, so then of course you get a lot of uh, you know various stories and everything like that. So it's kind of crazy.
Speaker 1:And then like, what else is going on? Politics? Camilla, horse shit, just keeps on making herself, just proving what an idiot she is. That we all knew. I guess, gosh, she's a moron.
Speaker 1:Like what was this last uh town hall thing she did? And and it, like they showed there was a teleprompter in the camera, was like, was like kind of panning behind her, and then they shut the teleprompter off. They're like oh, the teleprompter was for this, because it was like in I don't know if it was, it was for, like, a Spanish channel or something like that, or it was for both or something. I don't know. I didn't, I didn't watch it but and you can't really see what's on it. But they're like oh no, that was for the other people and it was Spanish and this and that which you know. That could very well be, but it is kind of crazy how, as soon as the camera and it kind of gets in view, then they shut it off, you know.
Speaker 1:So it's like it's just Kamala horse shit. She's just so fake, I don't know. You know Biden had a reason he was senile, and old Kamala is just a. She's just an idiot man. She is completely stupid. Why do they keep getting these women that are just retarded, stupid women running? It's like man, I know there's a smart, decisive, strong-willed woman that could be president. I know there is. They're out there, we'll get one one day. But then it'll be like next, like Tulsi Gabbard will run, and then they're going to be like, oh my god, they're going to freak out. It's like, well, here's a woman, but no, I don't know, it's just kind of crazy. Let's see what else is going on. What else is going on?
Speaker 1:Trying to think of what I think I talked about briefly watched the um, the Menendez Brothers show, or I didn't watch it, I started watching it. I got into like I think like the the fifth I want to say it was the fifth episode, but it's the one like the whole episode is just a single take. I think I didn't even finish it, though, but like it was the lawyer talking to one of the brothers and they're talking about his, you know, sexual molestation and abuse and stuff growing up, and I just I just I don't know. I mean it's, it's, it's's. The thing that sucks is like you can't really not to say that it didn't happen. But you know, the people that they're accusing it of are not here, so it's hard for them to kind of to say whether or not you know it happened, or you can't get the two sides, you only got one side of the story. I'm not saying it didn't happen, but but you know, and it's, it's that kind of stuff does happen and it's sickening and sad and but it's like I don't know what it is like, but I don't know if it's me in my growing faith or what, but like I just I don't like hearing and watching about that stuff so much. You know what I mean. I mean I don't. You know, like if somebody is talking about the news report, news report or um, you know I'm not going to like skip it because you know it and and you know you can't, you can't, hide from it. But like I don't like watching a show that really just goes into detail about it and then, plus, like those, those, those the brothers were just, they were just the most vile, sickening, egocentric, what's? Some of the words I can't think of right now, just um, sociopathetic, I don't know, like they're just, but these people are exactly how I picture a lot of people in LA or in in Hollywood really, or at least the Menendez brothers like that's how, how, the way they think and everything, and that's how you know what I mean. I'm like, yeah, that seems about right, you know so, but it's just I don't know. It's just. It started off as kind of intriguing but then it just like, I just felt like sick watching it. So after after that, I started watching. Let me see. I'm trying to see what which one I did watch. Wait, where's it at? Nearly. Oh, this is the documentary. Oh, I'll watch that. Oh. So now I noticed that Netflix is doing that. Now they do. They'll release like a you know, a show or a fictional whatever, and then right after that, they'll make a documentary about it.
Speaker 1:I like the documentaries more, but I'm very what do you call it? I'm very cautious about documentaries. I'll sit there and I'll look and look up the people who are you know the writers, or I mean people don't really write documentaries but you know the writers, or I mean people don't really write documentaries but you know the producers and directors and everything and see what they've done before to see if they're kind of trying to push what I know. I've seen more than that. Okay, yeah, so it was the fifth episode, the Hurt man. Yeah, so I mean it's, it's, it's crazy, but it's just man, it's just like uncomfortable for me to watch, like I just I couldn't. I'm done watching it. I'll watch that documentary though. I'll give it a shot. Let's see what else I watched. I guess I'm doing a review. I'm sitting here looking at Netflix. I watched the Mr McMahon.
Speaker 1:You know, I've kind of had like a weird thing with wrestling. Like when I was a kid I liked wrestling. I had the big I mean they seemed big at the time but I was smaller but the rubber wrestlers that were just like solid kind of rubber and you could get the ring and bounce them off and they would. You know I had my first one was Junkyard Dog. He was my favorite Junkyard Dog. I had Big John Studd. I remember I had Randy Macho man, iron Sheik. I didn't have Hulk Hogan, who else that might have been it, but yeah, so I used to be into wrestling when I was a kid. I think most, most normal kids are at some point. You know, they wrestle with their brothers or whatnot, or pillows and stuff like that.
Speaker 1:But but then I, I don't know, I kind of just, I never really, I never really watched it and then. But I've always kind of just I never really watched it and then. But I've always kind of held like some sort of weird fascination with it. Like I don't know why, but like I used to work with a guy who was a co-worker, became a friend and he liked wrestling, and so he would, you know, on, I guess, whenever wrestling would come on Monday, so Tuesday at work, I'd sit there and he would tell me about everything that happened on you know wrestling, and I was like legitimately interested. Like I didn't want to watch it, but I just wanted to hear him tell me what happened and this and that, and I'd sit there like, oh, so you know what I mean. Like it was interesting to me, but not enough to watch it. I don't know why. Know what I mean. Like it was interesting to me but not enough to watch it. I don't know why, but even now it's like I'll watch YouTube channels that talk about, you know, things that happen in wrestling. Like it's still like it's intriguing to me but not enough for me to actually watch wrestling. Is that weird? So, um, so yeah, I watched um show and it's pretty good. It's pretty interesting, I guess.
Speaker 1:I think if you like documentaries, you'll like it, whether you're into wrestling or not. You know, I mean, I think that's really what a good documentary is is it'll take someone who's a layman and whatever they're talking about, make it interesting. Like um, let's see what was, I don't know. There's a few, you know, documentaries that were like the subject was not really something I cared much about, but I was like, whatever, I'll watch it, but it was really good. You know, laid everything out and kind of learned something. I can't really think of anything off the top of my head, but but yeah, I don't know, I think it's just an age thing, but it's like you get older, you start you'd rather watch documentaries. You know, I don't.
Speaker 1:I used to watch movies with my family a lot. We'd have movie night. I mean we still do, but just not very often. And now it's like I just there are no, I just I'm not ever in the mood to watch a movie. I'll sit and watch and I can sit like I'm right on netflix right now, right, and I'm looking and I'm like, oh, that's a good movie, that's a good movie. And you know, generally maybe I'll see, I'll watch a movie that I've already seen before. So here's a couple like okay, I might watch this, I'll watch that, okay, but it's generally like documentaries.
Speaker 1:There's movies on here I've seen, like midway. I've watched a couple times. There's that, uh, kevin costner movie with bonnie and clyde, what's it called. I've watched that like a lot. I mean, mean, there's, you know, as far as like new movies, like a film I don't, I don't know. Like there's that movie with um, it's a black dude that I haven't seen before, but it looks like Rambo. It's like a Rambo kind of movie and it looks like it might be kind of good and I hear it's good. I'm trying to see. Oh, it's not on the thing here, damn it.
Speaker 1:I hate when I talk about something I can't reference what it is. But the dude is a black dude. He's like a good looking black dude, I ain't gonna lie. But he's got like piercing blue eyes or green eyes or something. There's something weird to me about a black person with the eyes like that. It just kind of I don't know what it is man, it's just kind of like I don't know. It's just weird to me. They look strange, I don't know. It's like I haven't watched it because I just something about that dude. I don't know why.
Speaker 1:I'm trying to see if I can find the movie so I can actually reference it. I have a hard time scrolling and looking and reading and talking at the same time. But I'm going to give it a shot. All right, let's see. I'm trying to find like I think it's an action movie, so I have no idea what it's called. So I'm trying to exciting movies. Okay, maybe it's in this Gran Turismo.
Speaker 1:That was pretty good. Actually that was a newer movie I watched a while ago. I wasn't expecting it to be. Why do I always start getting phlegm and everything as soon as I start talking in my pocket? Beverly hills cop axel foley didn't finish it. Kingsman didn't finish it. The last witch hunter I like. Hot fuzz is awesome. Heart of stone haven't watched it. The Outlaws haven't watched it. Red Notice was okay. I like the Venom movies. Shaft, the newest one, that one's pretty good. Triple Frontier was pretty good. Madam Web didn't see it. Agent Game oh, here it is Rebel Ridge. So the movie I was talking about, rebel Ridge, it looks like it. It would be pretty good, but like the dude I don't know what it is man like, he just it looks weird to me. I'll watch it.
Speaker 1:One of these days, I'm sure, like when I really want to watch a movie, because I have times or I have moments where it's like man, I just want to relax and watch a movie, and that's kind of the problem. Why I don't watch a lot of new movies is because I just want to chill and lose myself into a movie for a couple hours, right. But then when the movie starts bringing up stupid bs that's going on in the world today, it pulls me out of it and I'm like I don't want to watch this. I want to watch a movie that you know it's. It's entertainment, escapism, not so. That's one reason why I don't watch. But every once in a while I'll just I'll really be in the mood to watch a movie and it'll be a movie that I haven't seen before. So I'll sit there and really try and find something. But like man, even then I still I'll spend you know a half hour scrolling looking for something to watch, like maybe, I don't know, I could watch that, but it's just, I don't know. It's just weird. Again, I don't know if it's just me getting older kind of thing or what, but it's um, it's just weird, it's crazy.
Speaker 1:I um, so I'm, I um, so I'm trying to make some, some jewelry, not really, but make like some rosary. So there was um, I ordered um, a Catholic Bible and the catechism of council of Trent. Oh, you're not gonna be able to read it because it's mirrored. I should switch that. But the thing is I can't. I like doing my little um comic book-y filter and I can't do that with the, the camera. Actually, you know, normal. Does that make sense? Probably not, not much, not a whole lot. That I say makes sense, I guess. But you know you read like my shirt will read backwards or whatever. So I can flip that with my program, but then I can't add any any other stuff. So anyway, so the book I just showed you you are not able to read, but but I read it for you. So shut up, anyway.
Speaker 1:So I decided, when I was ordering those books, there was a rosary they call it like rugged rosaries, you know, and they're made out of 550 cord or paracord or whatever and they're nice and they're more masculine, I guess, but it was like 30 bucks, you know, and I was like dang man I don't know if I want to. I was like you know what? I'm sitting there looking at it. I was like I can make that. I could spend $30 on supplies and make a few of those. You know what I mean. So I was like that's all I'm gonna do. So I canceled it and I just ordered some stuff. I got, um, a package of uh, I got to pull the camera up so I can see what I'm showing here. So I made this rosary right here. I don't know, check it out, check it out. It's pretty sturdy. This isn't what I want to make. This is not the paracord, 550-chord stuff.
Speaker 1:So I ordered a package that had the little emblems and the crucifix and I ordered some beads and different stuff and I got a lot of stuff that's not going to work. That's the one thing I've talked about ordering stuff here on Amazon, and you know you're trying to find the right size, the right millimeter bead with the right millimeter hole that will fit paracord to go through, and so I'll finally find the amount and the price and the free shipping or whatever. But it's hard. So I'll finally find a bead I'm really looking for. Like I'm searching, oh, that's not going to work, that's not going to work, blah, blah, blah, blah. And then I'll say, oh cool, this will work. For, like I'm searching, oh, that's not gonna work, that's not gonna work, blah, blah, blah. And then I was like, oh cool, this will work, so I add that to my cart. And then I realized, crap, that's not for free shipping, so I gotta keep. So it's just, it's kind of I just want to go to like a store, a jewel, a bead store where I can look at them in person and buy. You know, that'd be so much easier. It's it's pain in the ass buying stuff online sometimes, but anyway.
Speaker 1:So I ordered some beads that came back and they were the small ones for like a smaller rosary. And then I ordered these beads a couple different colors, which are like glass kind of beads. They're nice, but the holes in them are really small. I can't fit 550 cord in them. So I was like man.
Speaker 1:So what I did is I took the guts out of the 550 cord. For those that know, inside 550 cord or it's paracord Um, inside is like a bunch of little white you know, and then you have the outer sheath, is kind of like electrical wiring I guess, sort of. But this stuff is really strong too. So I use this, and I did it like three times trying to figure out how I was gonna do it, cause I'm trying to make it to where it doesn't the knot, the least amount of knots, and for them to not come undone. You know what I mean. So it's sturdy, pretty strong. So I finally got it. I had to find like a big needle that I could fit the 550 cord through the paracord, the guts of it. So this is what I got though.
Speaker 1:So what I did was there's like one knot here and then there's one knot here. It's like everything else is continuous. So what I did was it was a pain in the ass, it took me a few times. Everything else is continuous. So what I did was it was a pain in the ass, it took me a few times, but so I started here and I ran the thread through and then looped it through here. So instead of having a knot here, it's just, it's a, it's a solid, you know. And then I ran it back through the beads and then came through the other side and looped through and then came back and then tied it together up here. So it's actually like two. You know, it's two threads strong, same thing here. So it's actually pretty durable. It's cool. I like it. It's not what my original plan is and I'm still.
Speaker 1:I ordered more beads and stuff to do the, the paracord one, but I don't know that's. I don't know. That's what I was doing the other day. Let me know what you, what you think and if you make any I'm trying to actually bring. I'm trying to make wearing rosary cool and and you know the rosary revolution, you know, wear the rosary.
Speaker 1:What's wrong with wearing rosary? You know, especially as a guy, this thing's pretty heavy. Actually. I mean, this one's a little more. I want to. I want to get the paracord one and wear that actually and just have it like people have it on their wrist, you know, like the one, a single decade kind of thing. But I'm like, why can't we wear as men, catholics, wear some rosary man, you know. So I'm gonna try and try and bring that back, or I don't know, or bring it, I don't know if it's ever.
Speaker 1:It's kind of like rosaries looked at as like a woman's jewelry, you know, which I mean. Kind of is, I guess, but you don't really, when you think of rosary, you think of like old, you know, italian or Hispanic women that pray in the rosary, you know. But it's like the rosary is meant for everybody and anybody, and so I mean, I'm not the one that came up with like, oh, I'm gonna make a manly rosary. It's out there, like I said, but it's just kind of expensive. So I want to make my own, but you don't really see it around here.
Speaker 1:So I'm trying to. I'm thinking of just making some and using it to, you know, to give it as gifts and stuff and for my kids and they can take it to school, and you know. So I don't know, that's all that's going with me where, oh dang, I'm at 25 minutes, okay, well, um, I usually like to try and keep it around this time. Thanks for listening. Um, let me know, comment on whatever I talked about, and God bless, and I'll see you guys next time. All right, bye.
