What's going on? It's the Objective Jerk. And I'm said, jerk, how you doing? Let me see, I always forget to put this on. It's my original little face logo thingy that I drew. Looks just like me, right, although I don't really grow a mustache anymore. So what's up? How's everyone? Everything's going good. Politics are going good. Liberals are lying and freaking out. Same old, same old.
Speaker 1:Elections are going on here here and uh, elections are here, are still kind of. I've said before, living here is like what I pictured living in the states in the 50s or 40s. 40s or 50s, you know, not a whole lot of like corporations, it's more like mom and pop stores and things like that, and you know grassroots kind of things and I don't know. So I mean. But you know we have Wi-Fi and all you know computers and everything. So it's not exactly like the 40s and 50s, but anyway. So when they do their elections or local elections, it's very reminiscent of the old. You know, like you've seen Back to the Future. I mean, they still kind of do it in the States too. But you know, you had the truck driving around with the banners of the politician and it's got the speakers reelect, blah, blah, blah. They do that here like crazy. They do parades and there's banners all over the place. We actually have some hung up on the outside of our yard and I've got to hang up more. I'm going to do that after I record this podcast, because my wife is dual citizen, so she votes, I can't vote, so it's kind of hard for me to really get into it. I just kind of go with what she, whatever.
Speaker 1:I still follow American politics. There's lots of terms and various things that I don't go with what she, whatever. I still follow American politics. You know, there's just there's lots of terms and various things that I don't. That doesn't click for me. You know what I mean. I'm sure over time, after a while it will.
Speaker 1:I mean I see things like roads. The roads here in some places are just horrible. I mean that's everywhere. You know states are the same way. But the thing is here is I see a lot of roads that are perfectly fine getting dug up and redone to make it look like they're getting work done, but it's like that road was fine. There's some messed up roads out in the farm land that need to be replaced work on those roads. You know what mean. And then there was a spot where it was really crappy. They fixed it and then within a month it was already going to shit and I'm just like what the hell? And now it's blocked off and they totally dug out that whole road. So you know, it's different country, same shit. But I'm willing to bet that there's some companies or individuals that when they do the roads because they do asphalt, but it's mostly concrete or maybe both, but I think they don't mix it right right and the concrete just doesn't last very long. I don't know. But anyway, yeah, so that's going on.
Speaker 1:Politics, which is kind of annoying. It's just, I don't know you. Just there's banners all over the place and then I guess last year they were pretty good at because they, you know, they'll pay people. No, just there's little banners just everywhere, man, everywhere, and when the elections are over, they're still there. They don't do nothing. They just sit there and rot. People use them for extra rain protection on their house or something, maybe I don't know, but last year they were a little bit better about picking them up and taking them down and stuff. So that's good, but yeah, so that's going on.
Speaker 1:I went riding. What did I talk about on my last bike. I think I talked about it before I went riding. So I got the new frame. I think I talked about the dropper post. Oh well, whatever, I'm sorry If I already talked about it, I don't remember. So I had I bought a, uh, a nice crank brothers dropper post for my original specialized frame.
Speaker 1:That was 2008. And so it's a little, it's a little dated, but it's cool. It's a nice frame, still a little more classic-y looking. You know I like it. Um. Little more classic-y looking. You know I like it. Um.
Speaker 1:But I bought this dropper post and it's well, it's kind of expensive and it didn't quite fit and I was trying to force it put a little Greek, cause it was like it looked like it was gonna. You know, looking at everything, it looked pretty close. But I mean, one is what is it like? 30.9 millimeter. The other one was 31.6.
Speaker 1:So I was, you know, it was starting to kind of go in, but then it didn't go in all the way and I was just like what the crap? So I rubbed some grease and I think I talked about it now that I, yeah, anyway, so I ended up buying a frame, a new frame, so I basically have a brand new bike, man, but, um, I mean not everything. There's some stuff that's. You know, when I got the new frame, I got some new brakes, some shimano brakes, which was the last thing I had to do. But yeah, so everything on there, I mean I could always upgrade. I'm gonna get bigger wheels and tires because, okay, it's like I feel like I'm a crackhead.
Speaker 1:So I bought this frame. It's a medium, unfortunately, but it's still bigger than my Specialized, which was a large. But you know, a large in 2008 is a medium today, but this one's for 29-inch wheels, right, so it's longer. So, you know, I had to get a new chain. Uh, because the chain, um, you know, because the bike is longer. Did I talk about that? So I went riding the first day on it and I broke my chain. My chain popped, um, and it's my fault because I didn't connect the chain, right, I'm not, I've only done it a couple times and so I'm not an expert in that. I know it's the link that I tried to reattach that came out. What I think I did is because when you stick it in the tool and you crank it in there, you're supposed to flip it back and kind of push it back in there, just so it's completely centered. I didn't do that.
Speaker 1:God, I hear my dogs barking. I think they're just barking at other dogs. Listen see if I hear. Yeah, I think they're just barking at other dogs. Anyway, the reason I'm kind of worried is because we got a little pit bull. He's a big sweetie and stuff like that, but he's, he's pretty much indoors and uh, so he's outside right now and I just worry. But he's, he's pretty much indoors and uh, so he's outside right now and I just worry about them getting into a fight. They so far they've been pretty good, but uh, as soon as I get done recording this, gotta go out there, make sure. But just keep it an ear out. You know, if I hear some, some rumblings, I'm gonna have to go out there and break it up. No, they'll be all right.
Speaker 1:But what was I talking about? So the bike, yeah, so the chain. So the chain broke and I had just started riding, so I rode it down, coasted and then got a new chain. Then I went riding yesterday. Yeah, I went riding yesterday for first time with my new frame, with no problems, and it's nice. It actually makes the climbing a little easier because the geometry spread out a little bit more, so it's actually. I'm a little bit lower to the ground, I think, so it's easier to climb. It's just not. I mean, it's not like an e-bike or nothing, but it was. I did notice that I was like man, it's a little easier, and then coming down on some of the rough parts was smoother, you know.
Speaker 1:So I'm thinking like man, if I get well, I don't know man, so I want to get 29ers, 29 tire, you know rims and tires and stuff, but then that's going to put me up a little higher, but I think I need to do that anyway, though, because I am lower and my pedals are low Like. I even caught my pedal on a rock at one time. I just hit it just right. So you know, my, my, um, not my drive train, but my uh crank set is like lower than what they were on my other bike, cause, you know, I have 27 and a half inch tires on there. So I got to. I'm waiting until next month and I'll buy a bigger, but maybe I'll just do the mullet thing and do 29 in the front, right, maybe I should just try that, just to see if you get 29 in the front and just try that anyway. See, should get 29 in the front and just try that Anyway. But yeah, so that's kind of what's been going on with me Kind of.
Speaker 1:So for those that listen to me, they know that I'm kind of just done with Hollywood and celebrities and everything like that. But I talked about it with Gene Hackman. So now Val Kilmer passed away, which was kind of crazy. It was crazy because I'm like, oh man, he must have had problems with his cancer, but no, he beat his cancer. I mean, I messed up his trachea and his voice and everything, but he died of pneumonia, is what they're saying. So it's like man, it's crazy. He's only 65, which is the same age as my dad. Well, no, my dad was 64. But it just kind of. But it just kind of, you know, just it makes you feel older when you, you know people are actors or maybe even celebrities that you kind of grew up with or die in. That makes you kind of feel older, you know, especially when it's kind of health related or age related or whatever.
Speaker 1:But, um, but yeah, I, you know, I've always liked Val Kilmer, ever since Top Gun. That's one of the earliest adult movies that I remember watching, trying to think, like I remember Rambo but I was like you know as a kid so of course, cartoons and He-Man and stuff. And then Star Wars. I watched some Star Wars and various things. And then I remember Rambo, karate Kid, short Circuit and Top Gun. I remember seeing Top Gun for the first time, which is crazy. Like I remember it vividly. The house I was living in my aunt was there, like they rented it or we watched it on HBO or something. I don't know exactly that. I guess it's not that vivid, but I remember watching it and my aunt and all the women just crying when goose died, you know, and uh, yeah, so it was like you know, I remember that movie and watched it many times throughout the years and just grew up on it.
Speaker 1:And then, and then, uh, he was in Willow, which is an awesome movie. I haven't watched that in a long time. I need to buy that. I hear the show sucks but that's alright. And then Tombstone, of course, fucking classic Dude, best so far, the best Doc Holiday. He had the best lines and, yeah, he did that awesome. I mean, he's done a lot. I'm brain farting kind of right now. He was in that one comedy. It was like one of his first ones. The World War II. What is it called? It's pretty corny but it's funny, you know, it's like airplane and stuff. God, what is it called? I can't think of what it's called. He's like singing and dancing and everything.
Speaker 1:And then, of course, the Doors. Remember seeing the Doors? When that came out I was a teenager. That movie is what kind of exposed me to the Doors. And after that, not immediately, but then, once I got a little older and I started listening to music, I gravitated more towards the Doors than Led Zeppelin. You know what I mean, but more towards the Doors than Led Zeppelin. You know what I mean. But I mean now I'm a little more into Led Zeppelin because I started playing drums and then, of course, john Bonham and everything. So, like, if I had to pick one I'd pick Led Zeppelin, but I started with the Doors, you know, and I still love the Doors, you know I like listening to their music and what's funny is this is a little bit of a temporary segue but the. You know when that movie came out, I remember it was a pretty big movie and that's like I said when I heard about it.
Speaker 1:Oh, the doors movie about the doors. That was 30 years after the doors started, or not even. No, they started in like 68? Yeah, not even 30 years. You know what I mean. But it seemed like so long ago. And now it's been over 30 years from when that movie came out, when the bands that I grew up on were out. You know what I'm saying. So it's kind of crazy to think about that like it. You know, at the time when you're younger, you just it seems like so far away. Oh my gosh, the 60s, what? But you know, it was just like a little over 20 years. You know which, when you get older, like now, 20 years is well, 20 years is something, but 10 years goes by, just like man, it's insane. But yeah, so I mean, if you grew up in that time listening to the Doors and you're listening to me yak right now, you're like dude, I'm old as hell. But if you grew up in the 80s and 90s, you know when the doors had a resurgence I think that film had a. It helped it Then that even seems, you know, that's a long time ago. You know what I mean. It's just crazy. But yeah, so it's like the way people looked at the doors back then is how people looking at, like Nirvana and stuff, but it's been even longer. It's insane.
Speaker 1:I haven't watched that Doors movie in a long time. I know it's not completely accurate. There's a lot of creative decisions or creative liberties taken, but still it's an entertaining movie. It gives you like a. It's like Wikipedia for the Doors, you know what I mean. It gives you the basic, whatever it may not have all the information, it may not all be correct, but it's still informative. Right, that's a good way to look at it Wikipedia. So yeah, the doors and then the Saint. The Saint's an awesome movie.
Speaker 1:He did Batman, which I didn't really, whatever I, you know I loved tim burton's and and michael keaton, the first one, the second one, even the third one. I didn't mind it when I was younger, but it wasn't like I don't know, that's when it was a little too. I didn't like the colors, I liked it dark. And then, of course, when george clinton was just atrocious I like the dark. And then, of course, when George Clooney was just atrocious, and then he did like the Ghost in the Darkness Did I say that? Right, where they're hunting the lions? I mean he's in a lot of the Island of Dr Moreau.
Speaker 1:I never completely watched it. I think I rented it but I just wasn't in the mood. It was like what the crap is this? I don't think I finished it. And then, of course, heat, heat is awesome. I mean, it's more known for denaro and pacino, but val kilmer was awesome in it and I mean, gosh, he's actually done a lot, you know.
Speaker 1:And then one of his later movies he did with robert downey jr kiss, kiss, bang, bang. I love that movie. That movie's hilarious and val Kilmer is freaking hilarious in that. Like, he was awesome in that. And then he's done like all kinds of stuff. You know, I've only talked about the ones that everybody knows, you know.
Speaker 1:But I'm trying to think of like any other kind of lesser known films that he was in that I've seen. But I can't really think of any right now. I guess I could be a decent podcaster and look it up, right? Nope, not the objective, jerk. Oh, there's a speaker now, somebody yelling some political thing going right now. Yeah, so it goes on, for I don't know how long it goes on, for too long, I think.
Speaker 1:But yeah, we had some service individuals come, not yesterday, day before. Um service star are, um, what the crap? Vagov. No, I'm trying to do Val Kilmer, what the crap Um trying to do, or trying to, you know, service our air conditioning. So I have like a little thing and I do like the kind of minimum cleaning. But they came and did a thorough cleaning and then they recharged one of them with some Freon and stuff and, man, the house is like an icebox now. It's awesome, all right.
Speaker 1:So let's see, oh, prince of Egypt, love that movie. Deja Vu. I mean, he was a supporting character but that's an awesome movie. I guess he's supporting in Heat too and Tombstone, but still, true Romance, oh, that's right. He played Elvis, right? I haven't seen that in a long time.
Speaker 1:Alright, hold on, let me get to the film. I don't have my glasses. I can't find my glasses. I looked for them. Oh, they're right here. Those are my sunglasses. All right, let's see Filmography. Here we go, top secret.
Speaker 1:Okay, so that's the comedy one that I was talking about. Real genius, I remember that. Okay, so, top Gun Talked about it. Willow Talked about it. Kill Me Again. Never heard of that one. And then the Doors man. I didn't realize the Doors was that early in his career when he did the Doors. What's funny is it's only like from Top Gun to the Doors was five years, but as a kid that just seemed like a lifetime. It's funny. Oh, thunderheart, that was a pretty good movie, where he's the FBI agent, the Real McCoy. I have seen it but I don't remember it.
Speaker 1:Tombstone, of course, true Romance, heat I Am Dr Monroe Talked about it. Ghost of the Darkness Dead Girl Don't know what that is. It's not bringing it up American, okay, anyway. Then you got the Saint, which is awesome. Talked about it. The Prince of Egypt. It's a good movie. I have that. I don't have. I used to have the Saint on DVD, but I don't have anything. I need to buy it again.
Speaker 1:At First Sight, I think I remember seeing it, but it's a romantic comedy. Boo, let's see Red Planet. I liked Red Planet. A lot of people didn't like it, but I liked Red Planet. I mean, yeah, it's, you know whatever, but I liked him in red planet.
Speaker 1:Sultan c, I know, I've seen it when I was in the army, but gosh, I can't really remember it. Wonderland, he was good in that. The missing, I don't know. I didn't know he was in that, but I didn't really. I couldn't get into that, I don't know why. Spartan oh wait, no, I think I'm confusing sultan c with spartan. Anyway, mind hunters, kiss, kiss, bang, bang great movie. You've never seen it, it's hilarious. Salton Sea with Spartan Anyway, mindhunters, kiss, kiss, bang, bang, great movie. If you've never seen it, it's hilarious. Deja Vu is awesome. Conspiracy Also.
Speaker 1:I know he did some direct-to-video stuff for a while. So those are the ones I haven't seen. Bad Lieutenant, port of Call, new Orleans. I remember seeing that, I remember liking it, but I don't really remember it though. Macgruber yeah, trying to just see what else is Planes I don't remember him being in Planes. I remember watching Planes a lot with my son, jay and Silent Bob, bob reboot. I don't think I've seen that. My son says we watched it, but I don't remember and that's kind of it. Top gun so that was the last movie he did. Top gun.
Speaker 1:Maverick, which was awesome, you know obviously had a small part, but but yeah, man, he was he's. You know he's one of the greats as far as Hollywood actors and stuff go. I mean he didn't. He didn't make movies like Tom Cruise, arnold Schwarzenegger, the huge, massive, whatever, but he's definitely along the lines of who are some. I mean, he's almost a character actor. He was like a famous mainstream character actor. I guess you would say Does that sound about right? Yes, it does, all right, cool, but yeah, so that's kind of a bummer. I mean, I don't know how you guys.
Speaker 1:It seemed like for a while there people were always posting stuff on Facebook or whatever, like fake. Oh, somebody died. And you're like, oh my gosh, rip. Like they're trying to see how many people and I think I fell for it once. I think it was one with Jackie Chan or something.
Speaker 1:So now when I see somebody say something like that, then I got to get on and look and research it and make sure somebody say something like that. And then I got to get on and look and research it and make sure, cause it was cause he died on April 1st, or the news came out on April 1st. For me it was April 2nd, but um, so I was like man, is this an April fool's thing or what? But yeah, it's a bummer man, it's kind of crazy and it just kind of makes you, you know, feel older I guess, even though it's not like he died of old age or something. But I got like I'm just waiting for clint eastwood, not waiting, but like I'm just, you know he's getting up there, he's getting so old and he's another, just like Gene Hackman. You know it's just another classic. Yeah, I guess Val Kilmer and Gene Hackman are kind of similar, that kind of actor, but I think Gene Hackman was a little more successful and did a little more stuff.
Speaker 1:But but yeah, I don't know, yeah, pretty soon. There's not going to be any. If you're middle-aged, you know there's not going to be any actors that you grew up with and will still maybe go watch. Like you know, if I go to the movies and and I'll still watch a Tom Cruise film, for the most part I haven't seen the last Mission Impossible yet I think I'm going to wait when I can watch this Dead Reckoning or whatever it's called. Then I split it up Once I can watch them both. Maybe then I'll watch it.
Speaker 1:But you know there's not a whole lot of actors now that are in like a movie that you're like, oh, I'm going to go see it just because this guy's in it, trying to think it's hard, and a lot of some of the actors that kind of had that have made a lot of crap lately. I mean it's not their fault lately. I mean, it's not their fault Again. I think it's just because Hollywood, you know, they bent the knee to the DEI and all that kind of crap and they just hired a bunch of people that were not good writers. I think that's the biggest thing is, they hired people who are not good writers and now they're using AI. So it's like some stuff comes out and you're just like what is this? Was this written by AI or a person? I mean, it's like I understand maybe using AI to kind of get it together, but you've still got to have a writer kind of go through and make it good.
Speaker 1:I tried using AI. I'm a creative person. I have lots of ideas. I'm not very good at getting them out. I have many graphic novels started or little stories, short stories, this and that that I start, but then I lose interest and sometimes I go back to them. Sometimes I don't. But I tried that.
Speaker 1:I tried doing an AI and it kind of I was actually I hadn't. I was like you know what I'm gonna write. I can write this. I'll write this, right. I'm like I'm gonna do a novel, right, I'm gonna do it. I'm just gonna do it. So I started writing a couple of chapters, what I thought would maybe work. And then I tried an AI thing and so I sent those chapters and the AI to get them rewritten and they, you know, took the story and it rewrote it.
Speaker 1:But it was just like, oh my gosh, I'm not a good writer, you know, I'm an idea man, I think, but I'm not a good writer. Like I need to get with a writer and come up with these ideas. That's what I got to do. Anybody that's a writer out there, let me know. I got some ideas. So then I'm like, yeah, maybe I should do a graphic novel then, because that's maybe more my good idea, but not good at writing. You know, because I wrote like I thought I wrote like a good exposition and like you know, like, oh, that sounds good, right, you know like good, describing the weather and the atmosphere and everything. But then, yeah, the AI rewrote it and it didn't.
Speaker 1:So I mean, you know, ai people are like, oh, who wrote this? Ai? I mean I think there are little. There's. When you get little cliches going on, then I think it might be AI. But I mean I think you can have AI write something. You just have to go through and just kind of like change it up enough to where it's not obvious that it's AI, I don't know, and they've probably been doing it for years really, but that's the thing. It's just the writing. That's what I think has hurt. I mean some directors and stuff like that, but I think the writing is just bad.
Speaker 1:It's just you watch movies and you're like what, that's a stupid take or that's a dumb idea or that's a dumb decision. You know what I mean? It's like you know those horror movies where people do these stupid decisions. I mean they're stupid to you because you know there's a killer but the person doesn't. So they're, you know. But even sometimes in some of those horror movies they just make the dumbest decisions, right, but that's what they do. They make dumb decisions so they get murdered. But when it's with every other movie, it's just like these dumb, like what? How does that make sense? Nothing makes sense. Why is there? You know, it's just when you start questioning the story, you just lose.
Speaker 1:Like I started watching I think did I talk about it Transformers, uh, the beast one, and I just was like I, I'm good, I couldn't finish it, I was tired anyway, but it was just. It was just like it was nothing new. It was like I've seen this before. This is stupid. And now they've dated it by talking about race so much it's like I don't know. I just get tired of race being some part of every single script every time Dude does Some part of every single script. Every time Dude does a movie take place during Civil War or slavery, or the 60s, 50s, whatever. No, okay, then shut the hell up. It's just annoying Anyway, but that's it. I've been yapping for almost 30 minutes now, so let me know what you think. Send me an email, do whatever. Thanks for hanging out, god bless, and I'll see you next time. All right, bye.
